“South African vocalist Vuyo Sotashe soars… unfurling into a hypnotic performance.”
“The talent on stage is remarkable… oozing charisma and cool … blissful sounds.”
He’s a darling of the New York cabaret scene, a protégé of Wynton Marsalis, and the recipient of a host of awards, from the Montreux Jazz Voice Competition to the Thelonius Monk International Jazz Vocal competition. He’s also a beguiling singer who at once summons the past and beckons the future. Listen to him while his way through classics like “Meadowlark,” his lovely voice floating feather-light above and around the melody, inviting you to follow him through the dappled sunlight of the song.
This engagement of Vuyo Sotashe is made possible through the Jazz Touring Network program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
