“What’s a poor music critic to do when confronted by a piano recital of such high quality that there is virtually nothing to say, other than ‘Brava?' The program she presented with astonishing skill and verve was mesmerizing.”
Hearing Van Cliburn Gold Medalist Olga Kern perform is a heart-pounding, moving experience: her power at the keyboard, her inimitable gift for plumbing the emotional depth of every piece she performs makes for an unforgettable show. In this unique evening, Olga Kern is joined by three members of her family, all gifted pianists: her son Vladislav, her brother Vladimir, and her mother Natalia. Each gains inspiration from the other: mother Natalia played the piano so often when Olga was in her womb that Olga connected immediately with some of those pieces upon playing them as a child; son Vladislav, the recipient of the prestigious Van Cliburn Scholarship at Juilliard, has performed with Olga to rave reviews and audience adoration; and brother Vladimir is an award-winning pianist, trumpeter and conductor who has performed around the world. Hear them in a rare two-piano, eight-hands evening of musical gems!
